What a season it's been for Brush Creek Service and Therapy Dog Center! From events with local heroes to working with our community partners, we’re staying as busy as ever and making meaningful connections along the way. Here’s a peek into our recent adventures:
Celebrating Our Community at Fort Sill and Beyond
In September, we joined the Retirement Appreciation Day at Fort Sill, connecting with veterans and military personnel. It was an honor to show our support and share the powerful impact that service and therapy dogs can have on mental and emotional well-being.
We also spent an afternoon at a lively car show in Blackwell, Oklahoma, meeting friendly faces and sharing information about our programs. The event was a great success, with our dogs making some new friends and bringing awareness to the life-changing work we do.
World Mental Health Awareness Day at Devon Energy
On World Mental Health Awareness Day, we were invited to spend time at Devon Energy, where we discussed the importance of mental health and showcased how service and therapy dogs contribute to emotional resilience and healing. Athena and Archer, two of our wonderful dogs, even made a stop at the Oklahoma City National Memorial afterward. Their visit served as a quiet moment of reflection and a powerful reminder of the positive impact these dogs bring to everyone they meet.
Girl Scouts and Community Outreach
We recently had a fantastic afternoon at the Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma fair, where we connected with future leaders and shared more about the role of service and therapy dogs. The girls loved meeting our canine companions, and we were thrilled to introduce them to our mission and inspire future advocates!
Cover Story and Giving Tuesday
We’re proud to announce that Brush Creek Service and Therapy Dog Center is the cover story for the November issue of Oklahoma Living Magazine! This feature gives a behind-the-scenes look at our work, our mission, and the impact our service and therapy dogs are having in the community. You can see the digital edition here .
Shirt Contest
Jamie Bowers, a barrell racer from Lawton, Oklahoma has graciously chosen us as her charity of choice in a shirt contest. If Jamie's design were to win the contest, she would get a sponsorship and we would get 10% of the sales from the shirt. We would love for each of you to go to this link and cast your vote by liking this picture, called "Brave". One minute and 2 clicks could change the life of veteran or first responder for the better. Thanks.
Thank You
To our supporters, donors, subscribers and volunteers we thank you!
